Luaus

Luau History

To fully immerse yourself in a culture’s history, you need to try all the food they have to offer! Attending one of our luaus is the perfect way to experience traditional Hawaiian food. A traditional land division system was called an ahupua’a. These divided the land from mountains to the ocean. When communities gathered to eat, they would contribute their harvests and together have a wide variety of different foods. Our menu replicates this ancient Hawaiian practice, featuring items from both the land and sea. Some of the must-try items include poi(taro root), lomi salmon(tomatoes with preserved salmon), and of course kalua pig(kalua pig was traditionally only eaten by ali’i or royalty.)   Find more information on the history of this celebration on our History page.
