Luau History
To fully immerse yourself in a culture’s history, you need to try all the food they have to offer! Attending one of our luaus is the perfect way to experience traditional Hawaiian food. A traditional land division system was called an ahupua’a. These divided the land from mountains to the ocean. When communities gathered to eat, they would contribute their harvests and together have a wide variety of different foods. Our menu replicates this ancient Hawaiian practice, featuring items from both the land and sea. Some of the must-try items include poi(taro root), lomi salmon(tomatoes with preserved salmon), and of course kalua pig(kalua pig was traditionally only eaten by ali’i or royalty.)
